Computer-generated robots

Where Genetic Algorithms meet Robots:

Genetic Robots are moving robots that can be created fully automatically. The robot structures are created using genetic software algorithms and additive manufacturing. [http://www.fraunhofer.de/en/press/research-news/2010/11/euromold-genetic-robots.jspread more]

Now, that should piss-off Jean Staune and his scientific advisor, Pierre Perrier and teach them a little bit more about the possibilities of genetic algorithms. If there is any hope for these guys to learn anything…
And cheer-up everybody else ;-)

Hod Lipson and Jordan B. Pollack’s project, The Golem Project is at the basis of Genetic Robots. And the project’s name may be a dear sound to Cédric Monget :-P

Society for Neuroscience (2010, November 19). Controlling cursors with thoughts: Faster, simpler, and more accurately; advance helps people regulate their own brain response, with therapeutic implications.
I don’t see how it’s simpler, requiring a fMRI installation, but it seems to be faster than anything else I know about.

Indian village bans unmarried women from using mobiles And this is quite logical:

[…] for fear they will arrange forbidden marriages that are often punished by death […]

See? It’s for there own good, phone cells are harmful, deadly some times.

transhumanisme [fr]
