Comme je suis listé en Sciences, je profite pour faire la promotion de quelques sites de sciences même s’ils ne sont pas bordelais ou francophones : Science Blogging. Il n’y a pas que des anglophones, vous trouverez C@fé des Sciences au fond Puis, tant que j’y suis, Je vous signale Knowtex, essentiellement francophone, avec une kyrielle de liens autour des sciences et des relations avec le publique.

agnostics wanted (alive) – no reward

I don’t think there are a lot of agnostics reading this blog, but just in case:

We’re conducting a web survey of nonbelievers (atheists, agnostics, doubters, sceptics etc.) So far,
We’ve had a good response, with over 1700 usable submissions. We’ve got lots of atheists, but we do not have as many agnostics as we would like.

We’d like to ask for your assistance on this project in the following ways:

1. If you are an agnostic, please do the survey.

2. If you are acquainted with people you know or think may be agnostics, please make the existence of the project and the URL of the survey known to them.

3. If you have any suggestions for finding more agnostics, websites, blogs, organizations etc.,

Well, one lesson that should be learned is that the authors could provide a version link to their final result! But anyway, the very same result could be achieved without sing Wikipedia, any wiki could be used to do the work and any blog would be a better support. Particularly if advertised by science bloggers.

I got the info about this paper through Hank Campbell blogpost titled “Can Wikipedia Be Fixed?“. You should go and read it, his experience with Wikipedia’s moderation system is quite informative.

I experienced directly shear stupidity with Wikipedia’s moderation system and I repeat it one more time here: if you see any conribution from me in the future, either my account was hacked or you may suspect I’m suffering Alzheimer.
